In 1980, reporter, author and official city guide Jacqueline Goossens went to New York to report on the presidential elections. Within a week Jacqueline had lost her heart to the city. New York soon became her new home.  She saw New York change from a city in ruins to the phenomenal post-industrial success story it is today. Jacqueline wrote columns about her observations for Belgian newspapers and magazines like De Morgen and Knack Weekend, and has written seven books about New York, the most recent being the ‘360 Graden New York’ city-guide, with co-author Tom Ronse.

In 2000, she was asked by De Morgen and Knack Weekend to be the tour guide for trips to the Big Apple they organized for their readers. Thanks to word-of-mouth publicity she has since accompanied countless families and other tour groups during their stay in New York City. 

Jacqueline takes her guests on tailor-made walking and biking tours and shows them both the ‘classics’ and off the beaten track spots. 

Neighborhoods like South Bronx, the Staten Island North Shore, North Harlem, Bushwick (Brooklyn) or Jackson Heights (Queens) are just a few of the hidden gems she loves to share with her guests.
